TutuTur Borneo: Tutu Just Did a 5-City Road Tour Across Kalimantan — And It Was Awesome
From the tip of North Kalimantan all the way down to Samarinda. Five cities. One island. One very determined beverage brand from Malang.

Let's be honest: most brands from Java are focusing on how to conquer to home island. Kalimantan is far. The logistics are not easy. And unless you have a very good reason to go — or a very stubborn belief that great flavors deserve to travel — then maybe you just... don't.
Tutu went anyway.
TutuTur Borneo was a full road tour of East and North Kalimantan — five cities, multiple venue partners, bar takeovers, mini workshops, and a whole lot of new people meeting Tutu Flavors for the first time. This is the story of how it went.
First Stop: Tarakan and Tanjung Selor — The North Welcomes Tutu

The journey started at the top — Tarakan, a city sitting on its own island off the northern coast of Kalimantan. It is a city that moves at its own pace, with a food and beverage scene that is quietly growing and full of people who take their craft seriously.
Tutu landed at Hatory — a venue that set the tone well. The team set up and let people get hands-on with Tutu Flavors, Concentrates, NA Bitters, and ND Mylk. Not a lecture. More like: here are these ingredients, let's play.
From Tarakan, it was on to Tanjung Selor — the capital of North Kalimantan and a city that does not get nearly enough attention from the national F&B world. Tutu showed up with a friend, Hatory, to visit Northern. Two different cities, reached by speedboat, same infectious energy. We found new kind of conversations that happen when beverage people finally get their hands on ingredients they have never tried before.
Tutu‘s products were made with Flavors for Everyone in mind. And in Tanjung Selor, that phrase started to mean something real.
Balikpapan: Joy Takes Over — 13 July

Next stop: Balikpapan. The gateway city of East Kalimantan, a place with real energy, a growing café scene, and people who know their drinks.
Tutu set up at Seruni Coffee — a spot with the right vibe for what was about to happen. The mini workshop ran, products were introduced, and then came the bar takeover.
On the 13th of July, Joy stepped in. A collaborative bar takeover where Joy took command of the bar and built a special menu of collaborative drinks using Tutu's products — Tutu Concentrates doing the heavy flavor lifting, Tutu Bitters adding depth, mocktails and coffee creations that made people stop mid-sip and ask: wait, what is in this?

Bontang: Moch Fadhlan Brings the Craft — 15 July

Bontang is the city that sits between Samarinda and Berau, an industrial city that is larger and more interesting than people outside Kalimantan expect. Its café and bar scene is smaller, but it is real, and it is run by people who genuinely care.
Tutu went to Goerna in Bontang — and brought Moch Fadhlan along for the bar takeover on July 15th.
Fadhlan worked the bar with the kind of precision and creativity that makes watching a bartender feel like watching an artist. Collaborative drinks built around Tutu's products — Tutu Concentrates and Tutu Bitters as the backbone, everything dialed in and purposeful. The mixology session drew a crowd that was engaged, curious, and left with a very different impression of what beverage ingredients can do.
This is what TutuTur does: it does not just show up and explain products. It demonstrates them, through people who know how to make them shine.
Samarinda: The Grand Finale — Halim, Selkop, and a Bar Takeover at Noona House

Samarinda is the capital of East Kalimantan. It is the biggest city on this tour, sitting along the Mahakam River with a café and bar culture that has been developing real character over the past few years. This was always going to be the main event of TutuTur Borneo.
Tutu's partner in Samarinda was Selkop — a space that fit the tone of TutuTur perfectly. The mini workshops ran, the product introductions happened, and then the city got to meet Halim.
On July 17th, Halim took over the bar at Selkop for the collaborative bar takeover — building drinks that were, frankly, impressive. Tutu Concentrates and Tutu Bitters as the foundation, Tutu Mylk lending its smooth, non-dairy richness to builds that felt as polished as anything you would find in a bar in Jakarta or Bali. Mocktails that tasted like they were hiding something. Drinks that rewrote what people thought was possible with a shot and some good ingredients.
And then, as if Samarinda had not already gotten enough, July 18th happened.
A special bar takeover at Noona House — a separate event that gave the city one more night with Tutu. Different venue, different energy, same commitment: every drink made using Tutu's products, every glass a demonstration of what Flavors for Everyone actually looks like in practice.
Noona House turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire Borneo leg. The crowd was enthusiastic, the drinks were excellent, and by the end of the night it was very clear that Samarinda had taken notice of Tutu Flavors.
What TutuTur Borneo Actually Was
At each stop — Tarakan, Tanjung Selor, Balikpapan, Bontang, Samarinda — TutuTur Borneo ran the same core experience: mini workshops to share knowledge on how to make great beverages with Tutu's full product range, collaborative drinks built by local bartenders using Tutu Flavors, Tutu Concentrates, Tutu Bitters, and Tutu Mylk, bar takeovers that turned the venue into a live demonstration of what mixology looks like when great ingredients are involved, and networking sessions where café owners, baristas, bartenders, and beverage enthusiasts could meet the team and try everything for themselves.
No hard sell. No PowerPoint. Just drinks, people, and a lot of very honest reactions from people tasting Tutu Flavors for the first time.
Tutu has always believed in Flavors for Everyone. That phrase is not marketing copy — it is a genuine design principle. Tutu Flavors, Tutu Concentrates, Tutu Bitters, Tutu Mylk are made to work in a place in Samarinda the same way they work in a bar in Malang or a home kitchen in Jakarta. The format changes. The flavor does not.
TutuTur Borneo was proof that this belief travels well.
TutuTur Continues

Five cities. New friends. Dozens of people tasting Tutu for the first time. That is TutuTur Borneo in numbers — but the real measure is harder to count. It is the barista in Tarakan who now knows what Tutu Bitters can do to a coffee build. The bartender in Bontang who walked away from Fadhlan's session with three new ideas. The café owner in Samarinda who went home thinking about the menu.
That is what Tutu is building. Not just awareness — connection.
